Please check back frequently for new patterns . . .

The free patterns include a stole, socks, a poncho, a blanket, three versions of a felted bag for your Denise Interchangeable Needle Kit, and so far, three new Moebius designs. The Moebius designs are a gift to readers of my two Treasuries of Magical Knitting. Knitters will need to refer to one of these books for instructions on starting the Moebius. Over time I hope to add enough new Moebius creations here that it becomes a third little treasury of Moebii for you to explore and enjoy.

School teachers who wish to introduce knitting to their elementary through high school students, click here for free detailed lesson plans and a description of how knitting increases academic learning and social harmony. This material is based on my years of integrating knitting into a middle school curriculum.

This version has two pockets and lots of trim color, with all four colors showing up in the tasseled zipper pulls. The yarn is Cascade 220 Tweed, flecked with bits of color.

This version requires just two skeins of one color of Cascade 220 Tweed, flecked with bits of blue and red.

Moebius Swan Tea Cozy

This pattern is a gift to readers of my Magical Knitting books, and you will need to refer to one of them for the Moebius Cast-On. The inspiration for this swan-like tea cozy came to me after returning home from teaching at the legendary Churchmouse Yarns & Teas on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle. The base of the cozy is formed of a five-fold Moebius - instructions for achieving this abundant twisting is in the pattern.

Cashmere Moebius Cowl

This pattern is a gift to readers of my Magical Knitting books, and you will need to refer to one of them for the Moebius Cast-On. I designed this for my segment on the Knitty Gritty TV show (DIY network), which I'll be filming at the end of October (it will be shown sometime within the following year). The cowl is lacy and beautiful yet oh-so-simple to knit! To see more photos, download the pattern!

Stole with Swimming Jewels

It took much longer to name this stole than to knit it, for it seemed there were no words capable of mirroring the sensations of being in its presence. Really! The colors, the sensuous yarns, and the sinuous way the turquoise jewels swim through the pale yellow Alpaca Bouclé stripes . . . but I did finally name it and here it is for you.

Island Embrace Blanket

This beautiful blanket was knitted to comfort a much loved member of the knitting community on an island far out in Puget Sound, where the waters of Canadian and American islands mingle. The blanket was passed hand to hand in the local shop as neighbors and friends came into knit a row or two. The knitting is simple, with the Fleece Artist yarns making the result look intricate. This is a perfect project for a group of knitters wanting to create something together. Fleece Artist yarn can be found on-line at www.colorsongyarn.com

Poncho With Drifting Collar

This quick and easy poncho is knit of Fleece Artist Dreadlocks, a deliciously soft bulky boucle from Nova Scotia. Fleece Artist yarns can be found on-line at www.colorsongyarn.com

Magical Moebius Needle Quiver

Imagine Robin Hood as a knitter - this is what his quiver would look like, full of knitting needles instead of arrows! The rim is a Moebius band, and so is the strap. Everything is felted so the quiver is sturdy enough to take up Mount Everest, or just to prop beside your favorite knitting chair.

Baby Life-Ring Socks

A toe-up design with a baby-shaped toe in three sizes. In this pattern you will also learn a wonderfully efficient method of doing a provisional cast-on which eliminates a step and gets you knitting right away.
